Overview
Notes to Keep stores the notes, links, addresses, snippets, tracking references, and images you choose to save on your device. The app does not require an account and does not send your saved content to AI Gaur LLC servers. The app has no cloud sync or advertising analytics.
Information the app handles
- Saved clips and notes: Text, links, metadata, tags, and images you enter or share into the app are saved in the app's encrypted local database. Shared content may pass through a short-lived, app-private handoff file before it is imported into that database.
- Link previews: When you save a web link, the app may request that link directly from your device to retrieve its page title, description, thumbnail, or icon. The website receives the request and may receive your IP address, user-agent, and the URL you asked the app to preview. No preview proxy or AI Gaur server is involved. You can still use the saved link if preview metadata cannot be retrieved.
- Clipboard and external apps: Copy actions place the selected text on your device clipboard. If you choose to open a link or address, the destination is handled by the browser or maps app you selected, under that app's privacy policy.
- Device authentication: If you enable the app lock or protect a note, your device's biometric or screen-lock prompt may be used. Notes to Keep receives only whether authentication succeeded. The operating system handles biometric data, and the app does not receive it.
Storage, retention, and deletion
Saved content remains in the encrypted on-device database until you delete it. Temporary clips can be set to expire after the period shown in the app. Expiry is enforced when the app next accesses its local database, so an item may remain on the device beyond its scheduled time while the app is closed. Pinning a clip exempts it from expiry until it is unpinned.
Notes to Keep does not provide cloud sync or its own backup service. Android app backup is disabled. The app does not control backups made by other device or computer software. You can delete saved content in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its app-private data according to the operating system's behavior.
Sharing and security
The app does not sell, share, or upload saved content to AI Gaur LLC or an analytics or advertising provider. A website you ask the app to preview receives the direct preview request described above. The app uses SQLCipher-encrypted local databases and platform secure storage for the database key. Device authentication depends on the operating system and device security configuration.
Children
Notes to Keep is not designed specifically for children and does not knowingly collect information from children through an online service.
Changes and contact
